GREENS UPDATE – 10th June 2008
Dear Members
Unfortunately the recent bad weather has necessitated closing of the golf course. The Managing Director, Club Manager and I realise that this is an inconvenience but it is never made easily and is always in the best interest of the golf course and all club members.
Notwithstanding the recent bad weather, I and many others have commented on the fantastic condition of our Greens and the course in general, there are still a few areas of concern but these are being addressed. In order to give a broader understanding of what work is carried out on the course I have included a program of work which we aim to undertake – weather and machinery serviceability permitting.
Greens – Tue, Wed, Fri, Sun & any competition day.
Tees – Tue, Fri
Fairways – Mon, Thu
First Cut (gang mower) – Wed / Thu
Semi rough (decking) – every 2-3 weeks
As a trial we are going to try and move the holes on a weekly basis although if this shows any detrimental effect to the standard of the greens it will be reviewed.
If there are any issues concerning the golf course please bring them to my attention or the Club Manager. I would encourage you all to compliment the green keepers but please do not harass them.
Local Rules
The local rules are currently under review and will be published shortly, when completed they will be displayed in the club house and on the club web site.
Thank you
Garry Pratt – Course Manager
