Winter Texas Scramble League - Final Week
Played Sunday 24th February
There was fine weather for the final week of the winter texas scramble league at Henlow Golf Club on Sunday. The scoring was very close on the day with three teams finishing on a good score of 46 points. In first place on countback were, Dave Hanlon, Steve Turner, Brian Dodson and Roy Warner. In second place was the team of Tony Horner, Dave Chenery, Dave Chudley and Craig Brookes. The overall winners of the league by two points also scoring 46 points on the day went to the team of Les Welsh, Gordon Rimmer, Dave Kirtley, Drew Catlin and Garry Pratt. The captains charity prize for the British Heart Foundation for nearest the pin on the 8th hole went to Gordon Rimmer.

Jim Clark Memorial Texas Scramble
Played 17th February 2008
Henlow Golf Club played the annual Jim Clark memorial Texas Scramble Medal on Sunday. Teams of four played together using 1/10th combined handicap, and despite the frosty conditions the scoring was remarkably good. Garry Pratt, Drew Catlin, Martin Harries and Brian Van Blerk took runners up prize with a nett 62. Joe Duncan, Bart Thaneja, Dave Kirtley and Phil Dyson were convincing winners with an excellent nett 59. Tony Bratt won the captains nearest the pin charity prize with a superb shot at the 178 par 3 11th hole when he hit his tee shot to only two inches from the hole.

Winter Texas Scramble League Week 7
Played Sunday 10th February
The sunny calm conditions, coupled with the soft receptive greens made for good scoring in week seven of Henlow Golf Clubs winter texas scramble league. The team of Garry Pratt, Les Welsh, Dave Kirtley and Gordon Rimmer scored an excellent 46 points to take runners up slot, and for the second match in succession the team of Joe Duncan, Phil Dyson, Kev Morallee and Tony Bratt took the top prize scoring a superb 48 points. With both these teams having now accumulated exactly the same score and two other teams only a couple of points behind, ensures a nail biting finish to the league in two weeks time. Garry Pratt won the captains charity prize for nearest the pin on the 3rd hole.
