27th January 2008 - Texas Winter Scramble Round 6
Henlow Golf Club recovered well from the recent downpours to host the 6th week of the Winter Texas Scramble league match. In spite of strong winds, two teams emerged with excellent scores of 46 points. Although scoring six birdies, the team of Garry Pratt, Gordon Rimmer, Dave Kirtley and Les Welsh had to settle for runners up slot, losing on countback to the team of Joe Duncan, Kevin Morallee, Phil Dyson and Bryan Gillespie. Seniors Captain Brian Hare picked up the CAPTAIN'S Charity prize for nearest the pin on the 3rd hole.

Although the course was in excellent condition the strong winds and wet ground conditions restricted high scoring in week 5 of the Henlow Golf Club winter texas scramble league. The league positions still remain very close with the fifth different team winning in as many matches. In third place with a good score of 44 points with one team member missing was the team of Gordon Rimmer. Drew Catlin and Dave Kirtley. In second place also with 44 points cames the team of Joe Duncan, Phil Dyson, Tony Bratt and Kevin Moralee. The wiining team with 45 points and also one member missing was Tony Horner, Dave Chudley and Phil Becker. The CAPTAIN'S CHARITY (BRITISH HEART FOUNDATION) prize for nearest the pin on the 2nd hole went to club VICE CAPTAIN Tony Brown.
